Arizona Search Project & Development

It has been a problem to really find things with search engines. You either find too much or too little, or find things that have no relationship to what you are looking for. This problem gets bigger when the words you use are very common, such as "Arizona" or "Phoenix". You will find links to the battleship and mythical resurrecting birds. That's probably not what you wanted. We feel you have better things to do than gaze over page after page searching the search results. This is why our search project will be different.

In developing the Search Project, there are two different divisions ( the search tool and the database we search )

One division will be programming an efficient search tool. In the begining, our search tool will use limited information that is provided publically on the Internet. We used the standard search engines to collect data, and then put a huge amount of links into our programs designed to sort out the bad links and irrevelent information. At least 50% is garbage, that we have trashed for our users. That is how we acquired our data to begin this project.

We use this data which has limited information in our first search tool. This tool does not require complex knowledge of the search engine. The interface is basically like English language. You look for this and this and not that. You can look in the URL and the Title of that page. But since we have already clean the trash, you will be able to find exactly what you ask for.
This still is not good enough for us. We will change our search tool, as the second division develops the database.

Second division will collect data about our current listings. Currently the database for Arizona will need a renovation of sorts. There will be an immediate upgrade and data collection for sites we currently list. This should be completed by mid November, 2003.

With this upgrade in data, we will then upgrade the search tool to take advantage of the additional information. We will need your support to serve Arizona and people interested in Arizona specifically.
